The Five College Architectural Studies program is unlike any other. Students receive the experience of a small liberal arts college, yet have access to hundreds of courses and dozens of professors on five campuses. The breadth of courses, programming and resources for students is unprecedented amongst the nation's liberal arts programs.
A broad and historic understanding of the built environment is critical. In the FCAS program, students can explore a wide range of research projects and focuses.
Experimentation and risk-taking are essential to the creative process and are encouraged and fostered here.
Bringing designs to life on paper is great, but realizing them in the world is even better. FCAS has a range of design-build projects each year to become a part of.
The FCAS program engages in myriad of questions about architecture and design. It encourages students to define and engage with the aspects of history, theory and design that they find most compelling. The program provides the essential concrete foundations, but an open-ended curriculum.
This year alone, our graduates have earned spots in the top graduate programs in the country including the Harvard GSD, Columbia University GSAPP, Princeton Graduate Schools of Architecture and Yale Graduate Schools of Architecture. Check back soon to see our Student's Stories page to learn more.
